About us

St. James Infant School is a school that values standards and achievement

We are extremely proud of all that goes on here.  We're not the only ones - Ofsted graded us as being good when they inspected the school in October 2008.  We've won awards too!

As our website demonstrates, the children at St. James Infants are supported in their learning by dedicated staff, governors and parents.

We have a Kaleidoscope Room - find out more ...  See how World Book Day was celebrated during 2009...

Mufti
The last Friday at school in every month is a mufti (non uniform) day. We will be charging 50p on these days which goes to the Friends of St James, as part of their fundraising.

Browse around our website, you will find details of school events, visitors and activities that serve to enliven the curriculum.

Get Involved

We love to hear from people who have some spare time to help out at the school on a voluntary basis.  Contact us for various options including classroom helper, governor or help us to raise valuable funds as a Friend of St James Infant School.

Before and after school care

Lunchtime meals

Read more about the hot meals and packed lunches that you can buy.

Drinks and fruit

Each child is given a new water bottle for the start of the new school year. These are refilled from the filtered water fountains as often as the children like. Please take them home regularly for thorough washing and return them to school the next day. Replacement bottles are available from the school office at 30p each. We have not increased the contribution to the water coolers, this remains at £6.00 per year or you may pay £2.00 three times per year.

The school operates a complaints procedure in line with the DCSF's guidelines.
