French

In September 2007 French was introduced into the curriculum in Year 1 and 2.

This has involved the children spending 5 or 10 minutes every day participating in fun activities which are designed to teach them some basic French vocabulary. They are all thoroughly enjoying listening to French stories, singing French songs and playing games which involve speaking the language. As a result of this initiative the children (and staff!) have learnt, amongst other things, to name colours, numbers, fruit, classroom equipment  and days of the week in French.

The children are all very keen to learn and I’m sure have been showing off to you their new linguistic skills! They are picking up this new language very quickly and we are all very impressed with their enthusiasm.
