Spencer's Club is a before and after school club run and staffed by the school and inspected by Ofsted. Once your child is registered it is possible to book them in for as many or as few sessions as you need.

Where is Spencer's Club?

It's in the building on the left as you enter the school playground.

What activities are there?

During breakfast club the morning is taken up with eating breakfast and the children have access to toys to play with.  After school there are organised activites which can include many exciting projects.  These have included:

 

 

 

 

 

  • clay projects - making pots
  • painting - printing / marbling / blow painting
  • cooking - donuts / fairy cakes / jam tarts
  • origami
  • The playground is used for lots of physical activities and the computer suite is available for other activities.  Games that are played too and include bingo and play your cards right.

     

    And there are always boxes of toys available for free play.

     

     

        

     

    Food

     

    Before school 

    Breakfast is usually eaten at around 8am and has the following menu:

    • cereals - a choice which usually includes: Cornflakes, Weetabix, Porridge and Frosties
    • toast - with a choice of toppings which usually include: cheese, ham, jam and marmalade
    • beans
    • eggs - usually boiled
    • fruit - variety
    • drinks - a variety which usually includes apple juice or orange juice, squash, tea and hot chocolate

    After school

    Tea is usually served at around 4pm and the children are given:

    • toast or a sandwich with a variety of topping / filling which usually include: jam, lemon curd, ham, cheese, cheese spread, marmite and honey
    • fruit
    • drinks - a variety which usually includes apple juice or orange juice, squash, tea and hot chocolate

    Who runs Spencer's Club?

    The school runs Spencer's Club.

     

    How do I go about booking session/s?

    Contact Diane or Helen in reception: 01327 702783 or complete a downloadable form (top of page) and once completed send to the school with payment.  Booking for the first time? Read the 'terms and conditions' (pdf), complete and send to the school with your booking form.

     

    Prices from beginning of April 2007:

    • Breakfast sessions are from 7.30am and the cost will be £4.75 a session.
    • After school sessions are until 6pm and costs depend on which school your child attends.  Children at St James Infant School will be £6.50 per child.  Children at The Abbey Junior School will be £7 per child (which includes taxi to St James Infant School)

    Payment will be due at the time of booking.

    Who can use Spencer's Club?

    Children attending St James Infant School can attend Spencer's Club.
